BUFFALO NEUROIMAGING REMEMBERS PAUL BRONFMAN

We remember Paul Bronfman who, through his family foundation, provided important support for multiple sclerosis research at Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center (BNAC).
Paul Bronfman, passed away in Toronto, Ontario on February 26, 2025.
Bronfman served as chairman and CEO of Comweb Corp. based in Toronto and Vancouver British Columbia, Canada and William F. White. He was recognized as a trailblazer in the Canadian and Hollywood film and TV industry as a leading supplier of production rental equipment.
Mr. Bronfman traveled to Buffalo in 2011 to meet with BNAC Director and primary investigator of the study, Robert Zivadinov, MD, PhD and his research team. Bronfman wanted to learn more about a multiple sclerosis (MS) study the Center was conducting about the role of blood flow to the brain before investing his support. We were proud to have earned his trust and friendship and grateful for the significant support his foundation provided. In several published papers this groundbreaking 1,000-person pioneer study demonstrated a significant impact blood flow has on MS, and these findings have resulted in many other MS studies at BNAC. The study was funded by almost 1,000 donors all over the world including over 400 Canadians.
It is with continued gratitude that we remember both Mr. Bronfman’s generosity and his encouragement. Beyond providing support for a particular study, his support and that of so many others helped create BNAC’s 4,000-person MS imaging database, possibly one of the largest in the world.
Paul Bronfman is survived by his children, Alexandra, Jonathan and Andrew; grandchildren, Nathan, Eve, James, Ella, Jack and Jane; and brothers, David and Brian. The passion he had for finding a cure for MS will continue to inspire our work.
