Clinical Trial Neuroimager/Sr. Clinical Trial Research Assistant

 

Deepa P. Ramasamy is the Clinical Trial Neuroimager at Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center. She received her Bachelors of Medicine and Surgery from the The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University in Chennai, India. Deepa is also certified in the US by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates and has been with BNAC since April, 2006. Her responsibilities include pre-processing and management of brain imaging data sets for multi-center phase II / III clinical trials and various other internal and external research projects in line with the objectives defined in project description. She also investigates changes in gray matter morphometry using FreeSurfer and Voxel Based Morphometry in multiple sclerosis, as well as other neurological disorders. Recently, her focus is on leptomeningeal inflammation in multiple sclerosis. Furthermore, Deepa assists with all other aspects of the project including extraction of data, statistical analysis, and interpretation of research data, drawing conclusions and writing papers for peer-reviewed publications.

Clinical Trial Manager/Sr. Clinical Trial Research Assistant

 

Jackie Durfee has worked with the BNAC since December 2005. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Limerick, Ireland, and a Bachelor of Science from Buffalo State College. Her responsibilities include the receipt and visual verification of scans for clinical trials, maintaining constant communication with Project Coordinators at remote locations, as well as performing parameter checks and standard automated and semiautomated calculations on all required sequences. In addition, Jackie assists in training new research assistants, producing quantitative MRI reports for physicians at Buffalo General Hospital, and the supervision of all T1 postcontrast analysis.

Sr. Clinical Trial Research Assistant/Clinical Trial Manager

 

Mariya Cherneva is a Senior Clinical Trial Research Assistant/Clinical Trial Manager/Senior Administrative Assistant and a Training Record Manager/Document Manager at the Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration in 2008 from New Bulgarian University in Sofia, Bulgaria and joined BNAC in June 2008. In 2011 she graduated from Niagara University, Niagara Falls, NY with a Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies. Mariya’s works on clinical trials, in particular the assessment of lesion load, atrophy, and longitudinal scan comparison.

Clinical Trial Research Assistant/Sr. Administrative Assistant

 

Mari Heininen-Brown is a Clinical Trial Research Assistant/Sr. Administrative Assistant and a Document Manager at the Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in International Business from the Helsinki Business Polytechnic, Finland in 2004 and a Master’s of Science Degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Turku, Finland in 2013. She joined BNAC in December 2007. Mari’s responsibilities include clinical trial dummy runs and quantitative lesion and brain segmentation analysis, as well as operating automatic lesion detection programs. Recently her research focus has been on susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI). In addition to her research duties, Mari has several administrative responsibilities, such as website maintenance and graphic design.
