Director of the Administrative Unit

1950-2012

Eve Salczynski, Director of the Administrative Unit of the Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center (BNAC) since 2003, died suddenly at her home over the weekend of September 15, 2012.

Eve served as Executive Assistant to Robert Zivadinov, MD, PhD, Director of the BNAC. She was responsible for management of all administrative projects for Dr. Zivadinov which included coordination of scientific meetings, research presentations, travel planning, and a host of other administrative duties for the director and staff including the supervision of BNAC’s administrative assistants. In her role as coordinator for visiting scholars, Eve welcomed to Buffalo scores of researchers from around the world and helped them navigate hurdles during their time at BNAC. An inveterate proofreader, she served as the office grammarian. Her skillful editing was highly valued by all staff who came to Eve regularly with complex scientific research papers or simple letters. Eve will long be remembered for her love of words, her clear, direct style of communication, and the pride she had in the importance of the research done by Dr. Zivadinov and her co-workers. She was instrumental in the success of the BNAC and its many valuable contributions to The Jacobs Neurological Institute’s research program.

Born in Buffalo, she received a degree in Communications in 1982 from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Eve is survived by two sisters and two nephews.
