SENIOR DATABASE MANAGER POSITION

The Senior Clinical Database Manager devotes 100% of work time to performing database management and statistical quality control analyses in the Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center (BNAC).

This position requires a highly creative individual with exceptional abstract problem-solving abilities and a rigorous attention to detail. Flexibility with regard to challenging tasks and assignment priorities is a must. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, particularly the ability to maintain clear and concise documentation.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Extensive experience with database management
  • Extensive experience programming and utilizing statistical package software such as SPSS or SAS, Excel
  • Extensive knowledge of Syntax production files in SPSS, SAS and SQL
  • Application of statistics: Descriptive statistics, linear and generalized models, regression models, parametric and non-parametric statistic, correlation analysis, survival analysis, multivariate analysis (factor analysis, principal components, classification and data mining), bayesian data and clustering analysis
  • Data presentation: SPSS, SAS and creation of reports, figures, tables and graphs
  • Experience with medical research and clinical trials
  • Strong computer skills. Self-starter w/minimal supervision
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Public Health, Biostatistics or PhD in Biostatistics
  • Programming Languages: Linux
  • Knowledge of MRI and brain anatomy
  • Experience leading projects and also interfacing with trial monitors and Ethical Committees
  • Data analysis, writing grant proposals and scientific papers
  • Project leadership skills, experienced in developing program plans and especially workload estimates

Duties and Responsibilities:
To provide research support at the Buffalo Neuroimaging Analysis Center including:

  • Overseeing other database managers in BNAC
  • Database management
  • Programming and utilizing statistical package software such as SPSS or SAS, Excel
  • Production of Syntax files in SPSS, SAS and SQL
  • Application of statistics: Descriptive statistics, linear and generalized models, regression models, parametric and non-parametric statistic, correlation analysis, survival analysis, multivariate analysis (factor analysis, principal components, classification and data mining), bayesian data and clustering analysis
  • Data analysis, writing grant proposals and scientific papers
